Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2008 and operated entirely by volunteers. Originally created to save animals from Madison Animal Control, MARF has helped transform the city's live-release rate from one of the highest euthanasia rates in the area to virtually zero. Since its founding, the organization has rescued more than 6,000 animals.

MARF is a foster-based rescue that provides veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter services, and adoption support for dogs and cats. In addition to finding loving homes, the organization promotes responsible pet ownership and, when resources allow, assists local pet owners with food, veterinary care, and other essential support.
