GHHS

The Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS) is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that has served North Alabama since 1969. Their mission is to use rescue, adoption, education, advocacy, and community outreach to ensure the humane treatment and welfare of all animals. Through compassionate care and innovative programs, GHHS helps thousands of animals each year while supporting pet owners and strengthening the human-animal bond throughout the community.

GHHS provides shelter and medical care for homeless dogs, cats, and other companion animals while preparing them for adoption into loving homes. In addition to its adoption program, the organization offers foster opportunities, volunteer programs, low-cost community resources, pet food assistance through King's Community Kitchen, and The Ronnie Hornbuckle Haven, Alabama's first sanctuary dedicated to cats living with FIV and FeLV. GHHS also operates Three Tails ReSale, a thrift store that helps fund lifesaving care for the animals.
